Dates Sheep Drive September 2026
Sunday, 13. September 2026 in Kurzras
Departure of about 1,500 sheep at the “Rofenberg-Alm” in the early morning. Arrival of the sheep herd at Hochjoch by the hut “Schöne Aussicht” (2,845 m) at around 11:00 a.m. and in Kurzras (2,011 m) between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Saturday, 12. September 2026 in Vernagt
Departure of about 2,200 sheep and 200 goats at the “Niedertal-Alm” in the early morning. Arrival of the herd at around 9:00 a.m. at Niederjoch by the “Similaunhütte” (3,019 m) and in Vernagt at the lake (1,700 m) at approximately 2:00 p.m.
Important: In the case of extreme weather conditions, changes to the schedule are possible! These will be announced at short notice.
There is no organized return transfer from Schnalstal to Vent!
