NIEDERTHAI SENNHOF PARKING LOT -> Horlachtal -> Larstigalm -> Klein Horlachalm -> Groß Horlachalm -> Schweinfurter Hut -> ZWIESELBACHALM
The hike starts in Niederthai at the Sennhof parking lot (next to the information center). From there, you follow the gently ascending forest road along the Horlachbach stream into the Horlachtal valley. After about one hour, you reach the Larstigalm and stroll comfortably past it. The path then briefly climbs steeper before continuing flat to a bridge. There, you either continue on the forest road past Klein Horlachalm and Groß Horlachalm or take the narrow summer hiking path directly in front of the bridge to the right through open terrain to the Schweinfurter Hut. From there, you continue hiking into the Zwieselbach valley and reach the Zwieselbachalm after about 20 minutes. This alpine pasture is not managed. A stopover with a delicious Ötztal snack is possible on the ascent or descent at Larstigalm, Klein Horlachalm, or Schweinfurter Hut. From the starting point in Niederthai or also for the return journey, the two high paths "Grastal and Bergmahderweg" are alternative options. The easy hike is also very suitable for families and strollers/buggies.
