The winter hiking trail starts at the Steinmannbahn mountain station. From there, an easy hiking trail leads to the Schönwieshütte. Ascent about 35 meters.

Public transit

Travel comfortably and safely by train to Ötztal train station. The final station or exit point is the ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can conveniently and quickly use public transport or local taxi services throughout the valley to reach your desired destination.

Getting there

The car journey into the ÖTZTAL. Located in Tyrol, the ÖTZTAL branches southward as the longest side valley of the Eastern Alps. Travelers arrive by car via the Inn valley to the valley entrance and continue along the Ötztal. In addition to the toll motorway, country roads can also be used. In Gurgl, the following parking options are available:

Underground car park village center Obergurgl (down to the right in front of the church), subject to fees 

Underground car park village entrance – Festkoglbahn valley station, subject to fees

Car park Hochgurglbahn valley station, free of charge – no overnight parking

Car park Top Mountain Crosspoint, free of charge

Car park Hochgurgl, free of charge (very small parking area)
