The Tour
From the Sennhof parking lot in Niederthai (next to the information center), you follow the wide winter hiking trail along the Horlachbach stream into the valley to Larstigalm (1 h) or further to the Schweinfurter Hut (2 h). Once at the top, you can enjoy the breathtaking winter landscape and delicious Ötztal specialties on the sun terrace. Afterwards, you return the same way to Niederthai with the sled.
Alternatively, you can also hike from Niederthai along the “Grastalweg” with a bit more incline to Larstigalm and from there continue to the Schweinfurter Hut.
The Grastalweg is also groomed. The sled run is open daily from 09:00 to 17:00.

Directions

Public transit
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is the ÖTZTAL train station. Afterwards, you can travel quickly and conveniently by public bus or local taxi companies through the entire valley to your desired destination! Getting there
The drive to the ÖTZTAL. Located in Tyrol, the ÖTZTAL branches to the south as the longest side valley of the Eastern Alps. Traveling by car takes visitors over the Inn valley to the valley entrance and continues along the Ötztal. Besides the toll highway, country roads can also be used. You can quickly and conveniently plan your trip with the route planner.

Equipment
Appropriate equipment such as breathable and weather-adapted outdoor clothing, wind, rain, snow and sun protection, hat and gloves, as well as sturdy footwear is necessary. Bringing a first aid kit and a mobile phone, as well as sufficient provisions on tours without a place to rest, is required.
