The Tour
WINKLEN -> Unterried -> Lehn -> Oberried -> Plague Chapel -> Auenweg -> Lehner Au -> WINKLEN
The starting point for this circular hike is at the free parking lot in the hamlet of Winklen. At the beginning, walk along the road towards Unterried. Just past the first houses, turn right and follow the signs to Wurzberg-Alm. There, the flat hiking trail leads to the districts Unterried, Lehn, and Oberried. Visible from afar is the plague chapel, which looms on a hill. The plague chapel is one of the power places in Längenfeld. Therefore, we take the gently ascending path to it. After a short rest, the return route follows the Auenweg (along the Ache river) back to Winklen.
Since the path is mostly flat, it is also suitable for wheelchair users and strollers (except for the ascent to the plague chapel).

Additional information
POI - Plague Chapel
As plague victims in the 17th century were not allowed to be buried on the opposite side of the river, a small filial church consecrated to the Holy Trinity was specifically built in 1661 - commonly known as Bichlkirche or plague chapel - in the forest at Kropfbühel.
