The hike begins at the parking lot by the elementary school in Tumpen. From there, follow the road towards Grube, then turn left onto the forest road going uphill past the Tumpen waterfall. At the last junction, turn right towards Armelen Hut. The path to the left leads to the Vorderen Tumpener or Gehsteig Alm. After about 1 hour of walking, you reach the beautifully and peacefully situated Armelen Hut, which is also considered one of the most scenic viewpoints in the Ötztal.

Public transport
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or point of exit is the ÖTZTAL station.
