A grassy spot with a tent? That's what camping used to be! Today, camping vacationers in Ötztal can look forward to far more comfort than just a place to sleep. "Glamping" or "Glamorous Camping" is the undisputed trend in the camping sector, where all modern comforts of a hotel are combined with the natural environment and freedom of a campsite. But also fans of "purist" camping - equipped only with a tent - will find their perfect pitch at one of the family-run campsites in Ötztal.
General information
The Tirolean Camping Law, dating from 2001, generally prohibits camping outside of official campsites! Please bring on arrival:
- Personal documents: passport or identity card
- Children under the age of 16 need a children's ID
- Vehicle documents: driving license and vehicle registration (technical approval)
- Pets: rabies vaccination at least 30 days - max. 12 months old
Campingplatz Haiming
Fall asleep to the sound of the Inn River. Ines and Klaus Fankhauser's small but fine campsite has seven tent and pitch sites for camping tents, caravans and campers. Here you wake up in the morning with the first rays of sunshine, ready to set off for the next adventure. The campsite has a communal barbecue area, sanitary & washrooms incl. hot water, water & electricity connection, washing-up area as well as free use of the chill-out zone.
Ötztal Camping Umhausen
The camping site, which is open all year round, offers everything that makes a camping fan's heart beat faster: New state-of-the-art sanitary facilities, the quaint "Kaminstadl" restaurant, a boulder climbing wall and also two (block) huts are available for overnight stays.
Camping Ötztal-Längenfeld
The year-round campsite enjoys an idyllic location on the edge of the forest, yet is only a stone’s throw from the centre of Längenfeld. 200 pitches, four luxurious Alpine Lodges, modern sanitary facilities and the “Infang” restaurant/pizzeria complete the holiday experience. Shops, a bus stop, the AQUA DOME thermal spa, climbing parks and via ferratas, hiking trails and much more are all located nearby.
Naturcamping Kuprian - Ötztal
Personal, peaceful and right in the heart of the Ötztal. Spacious pitches for motorhomes, caravans and tents, new "Bergnester", modern heated sanitary facilities, and the “Måhlzeit” restaurant serving regional cuisine ensure a relaxing stay. In summer, hiking and biking tours start right from the campsite, while in winter, the ski bus takes you conveniently to the Sölden ski area.
Camping Sölden
Centrally located yet peaceful, Camping Sölden lies at an altitude of around 1,400 metres, directly beside the Ötztaler Ache river. Thanks to its prime location—right next to the Bike Republic Sölden and the Sölden ski area—this year-round campsite is the perfect base for active mountain holidays.
