Sure! Back in Ötzi’s days, there was definitely a lot more ice – after all, they didn’t call him the “Iceman” for nothing. You can still experience this icy legacy today: two glaciers are waiting to be conquered on skis or a snowboard, while more than 100 others shape the breathtaking Ötztal panorama. Dear Ötzi: Hunting is not allowed and our mascot WIDI is a great friend, not food! But don't worry: there is still plenty of action - just on two skis. Thanks to 6 different ski areas, everyone will find the right terrain: beginners, leisurely sports fans, pros and all in between.

Things are a little quieter in Niederthai, Gries and Vent: ideal for beginners, children and anyone who likes a relaxed atmosphere.

Cross-country skiing
No, Ötzi, cross-country skis are not suitable for hunting but you train your entire body with this popular winter sport! It's practically survival of the fittest in a modern-day version - perhaps to impress Mrs. Ötzi? Joking aside: when cross-country skiing in central Ötztal, especially at the Niederthai Cross-Country Ski Center, you glide through snow-covered landscapes, recharge your batteries and keep yourself fit. Explore 74.9 km of classic tracks and 73.8 km of skating routes.
Wellness instead of campfire
While Ötzi once warmed himself by the fire, today you can enjoy the soothing warmth of scenic AQUA DOME – Tirol Therme Längenfeld. Sauna world, thermal water, relaxation zones: after a day on the slopes or winter hiking, pure relaxation is the order of the day on incredible 20,000 m².
