Description

One week before the Flitschelarlauf, the highlight of the Fasnacht, the bears are captured. The wild music retrieves the Bearentoler above the church and accompanies him to the old Senn, where the authorities (top hat wearers) are seated. Laningar and Bearntreibar want to catch a bear. The authorities do not like this, which is why they set them a task that they would not be able to accomplish anyway. First, they must persuade the Bearntolar with his Waibele to come from the Bearntal into the valley, and they must capture his bears.

Laningar, Korner, and the bear drivers set out in search of the bears hiding in the forest.

They need to capture 6 bears; only then can they go to the Maschgarade.
The captured bears are presented to the authorities to see if they are the right bears.

In the end, the authorities have to give in, and the Flitschelarlauf can take place in Sautens.
