CENTRAL PARKING LOT OETZ -> Kohlstatt -> Piburger See -> Piburg -> Optional viewpoint Seejöchl -> Piburg -> CENTRAL PARKING LOT OETZ
The starting point is the central parking lot in Oetz. First, you walk along the Ache river to the Brandach bridge, cross it, and follow the path to Kohlstatt. From here, follow the signs to Piburger See. The left lakeshore, viewed from here, is flat and is prepared even in winter, making it easy to walk on. The Piburger See is a natural jewel, nestled in the Piburger See nature reserve. Many stories surround the lake. In cold winters, the ice cover completely freezes over and is prepared and opened for ice skating.
Afterwards, you go up to the village of Piburg. Here, there is the option to turn left and follow the path to Seejöchl. From Seejöchl, you can view the winter landscape and the Piburger See below from a bird’s eye perspective. Then you return the same way back to Piburg and from there follow the lightly trafficked country road back to Oetz.
