Start at the Kreuzkapelle in Sautens, after about 100 m following the road, the red trail turns right into the forest. Beautiful hiking path to the viewpoint Tschirgantblick. Especially recommended in spring and autumn.
Over 3000 years ago, massive parts of the Tschirgant fell into the valley and blocked the entrance of the Ötztal. Today, the area is a small, originally preserved natural oasis in the otherwise densely populated Tyrolean Inn Valley. The mostly forested area offers quiet spots to relax, rich biodiversity, and is surrounded by legends and myths. Circular hiking trails lead through the mystical landscape of the Sautner Forchet past fascinating cultural points (lime kiln, dwelling cave, ...) and some information boards about the animal kingdom and geology.
How do you find your treasure? Along the marked route, there are small caches (treasure boxes). In each cache, you find secret letters. Enter all letters on your treasure map. Only those who have collected all letters can form the solution word. With this solution word, you can pick up a gift at the information office Oetz or at the Ötztal infopoint!
START POINT: Parking lot at the Kreuzkapelle (football field). IMPORTANT: Follow the path marked with the red triangle.

Roadbook
Start at the Kreuzkapelle in Sautens, after about 100 m following the road, the red trail turns right into the forest. The forest path takes you through the Forchet. The caches here are not very easy to find, so you should look carefully at the pictures. The first one is hidden by a tree. The narrow forest path sometimes gets wider and then narrower again. The trail markings show which loop you must follow, as the paths cross several times here.
Just before reaching the Tschirgant viewpoint, you will find a well-known bush where cache 2 is hidden. From here, you can partly see towards Roppen. Enjoy the view at the Tschirgant viewpoint. From here the loop goes back, but do not be deceived, it doesn’t take much longer; you still have to hike a little while.
On your way back, you can again partially enjoy the view. You walk through the forest and then come across good spots where you can enjoy the view again. Soon you will reach a small wooden ladder; don’t forget to look for the cache here and hide it well again.
After cache three, be careful not to get lost. Many paths branch off here, and you still want to find cache 4. This one is located at a natural crossroads. Once you have found it, continue hiking through the forest until you return to the chapel.
