Directions
TO THE MAJESTIC GLACIER CASTLE
First, you hike behind the hut in switchbacks up the steep grassy slope. The path becomes steeper and you can already see the destination. The Brandenburger Haus majestically crowns a rock at 3,274 meters above the Kesselwandferner. Up to just over 3,000 meters altitude, you have followed the Deloretteweg and now enter the crevasse-ridden glacier. The route is marked with visible poles. However, roping up is an essential requirement. The passage through the eternal ice towards the west or northwest takes about one hour. In the final section of the route, you climb the last meters up the rocks to the Brandenburger Haus through boulder fields. The Weißkugel, perhaps the most beautiful mountain in Tyrol, is one of the countless visual highlights.
