You take the Acherkogelbahn from Oetz to Hochoetz. The hike starts on a wide forest road past the Kühtaile Alm to the Balbach Alm. From there you walk along the easy high path, which runs with gentle ups and downs to the upper Issalm. This hut is not managed. Then continue to the Längentaler reservoir. Along the lake, it goes into the village of Kühtai. The Dortmunder hut is located at the beginning of the village.
From Kühtai you take the bus back to Oetz.
Alternatively, you can also descend from the upper Issalm via the somewhat steeper path to the Issbrücke. The total distance here is 5.5 km. From the Issbrücke, you can take the bus back to Oetz.
