The Tour
From the Dortmunder Hut (1,949 m) up to the Finstertaler Reservoir. Beautiful hike along the lake, then ascending to the Finstertaler Notch (2,780 m) crossing. The route then descends to the Schweinfurter Hut (2,028 m). Afterwards, you can continue hiking to Larstigalm and then through the Horlachtal to Niederthai.
ATTENTION! The path over the Niederreich Notch through the Längental to the Längental reservoir/Dortmunder Hut is closed until further notice due to blasting works!

Directions
The ascent to the Finstertaler Reservoir begins from the Dortmunder Hut. Then continue walking along the lake and ascend to the Finstertaler Notch. From there follows the descent over the Weite Kar to the Schweinfurter Hut.

Public transit
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal station. The final stop or exit point is ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can conveniently and quickly travel through the entire valley to your desired destination by public transit or local taxi companies! The following parking options are available in Ochsengarten:
- Ochsengarten - large public parking lots – opposite or next to the valley station Ochsengartenbahn
- Ochsengarten in the center opposite our information office and across from GH Bergland
- Ochsengarten at the edge of town, towards Kühtai, near the school, above Ochsengarten – paid parking lot at Sattele – starting point for WI hiking area and SO hiking area Feldringalm
