Description

GRIES -> church -> viewing platform -> GRIES

Map & elevation profile

GRIES -> church -> viewing platform -> GRIES

The pilgrimage church Maria Hilf, starting point of the contemplative path, sets a spiritual and reflective mood for the circular hiking trail. It leads gently ascending through the snow-covered meadows and forests of Gries, following the stations of the cross to the newly built viewing platform. From here, there is a wonderful view of the small mountain village, with the distinctive mountains of the Stubai Alps including the Schrankogel and the Mutterberger Seespitze in the background. The beautifully laid out hiking trail leads slightly downhill to the collegiate chapel. After crossing the Gries country road, follow the Fischbach stream back to the starting point.
