Description

OETZ -> Wellerbrücke -> ARMELEN HÜTTE

Map & elevation profile

OETZ -> Wellerbrücke -> ARMELEN HÜTTE

The starting point is the town center parking lot in Oetz. You leave the parking lot on the southern side and walk right towards the river. Along the Ötztaler Ache, you then go upstream to the Wellerbrücke. Here, you can watch various white-water sports enthusiasts enjoying their hobby. Especially in late summer, the world elite of kayak paddlers meets here. You cross the Wellerbrücke and follow a narrow hiking path through the forest up to Kohlstatt. Due to a rockfall, the direct ascent to the Armelen Hut from Kohlstatt is not possible. Therefore, you first follow the path further towards Habichen. Here, the steep hiking trail to the Armelen Hut branches off.

Return is via the same route or via the wide forest road to Tumpen. From Tumpen, you hike along the Ötztal cycle path first to Habichen and then further to Oetz. Regular local buses also run from Tumpen back to Oetz.

The Armelen Hut belongs to the Genussplatzlen. "Regional, seasonal, honest cuisine – it’s enough what is there!" - that is the motto. The Genussplatzlen includes committed businesses that act regionally and sustainably whenever possible. Learn more at www.oetztal.com/genussplatzlen
