The mountain bike route is one of the classics in the front Ötztal. However, the 30 kilometers and over 1500 meters of elevation are no walk in the park. The following descent is all the more fun.
The ascent to Hochoetz initially leads over the Kühtai High Alpine road, notorious among cyclists, which is part of the Ötztal Cycling Marathon. At the bus stop, turn towards Klingenburg and follow the gravel road to Acherberg Alm and further to the Hochoetz Panoramic Restaurant. A detour to the Bielefelder Hut is highly recommended. At the hut, at 2,104 meters, the highest point of the route is reached. There is a magnificent panoramic view of the Ötztal and Piburger See. Before rushing downhill again, it is advisable to check the brakes. Arriving at Ochsengarten, the biker turns back onto the Kühtai state road and rides the paved path back to Oetz.
