WIDIVERSUM HOCHOETZ is further extending

A new attraction will be added to the 17 already existing Play & Quiz Stations of the exciting Family Adventure Land which can be found around the water reservoir in Hochoetz. Further improvements are in the planning stage.

By opening the unrivaled WIDIVERSUM HOCHOETZ the lower Ötztal Valley has become a holiday destination made to measure for families. Also the Hochoetz Mountain Lifts have a large share in this prospering market. In addition to the attractions on the spot, the entire Playground Park will be equipped with further activity stations step by step. In 2017 the Giant Pinball is extended: the 35-meter long construction made of wood ranks among the new highlights. Several children or adults must take part in the pinball game by enhancing teamwork and interpersonal skills. "The pinball game was developed by child experts and psychologists to ensure a high learning effect," explains Nadja Frischmann, Head of Marketing at Bergbahnen Hochoetz. Educational games and creative stations like the Milk Jug Xylophone or the Splish-Splash Pond or the Spinning Wheel Diving Station invite children to enjoy games among friends. The activity stations also provide an insight into local handicrafts and special features of the region in a playful way. In the Woolen Play Forest, for example, little explorers get to know everything about sheep's wool - from the raw material to its processing in the weaving loom. Thanks to the Hornophone you can learn the typical Ötztal Dialect and in the Enchanted Ravine little nature fans can take a closer look at the Alpine mountain world.

Further Extension planned in 2018

New shading measures and seating areas are already available in the 2017 summer season. Most of the highly sustainable activity stations are made of solid local wood, manufactured by regional craftsmen. "The next stage of expansion is planned in 2018," Frischmann confirms. "It's a matter of fact that the WIDIVERSUM has created a number of additional family offers that upgrade the entire Ötztal Valley – for both local and guests. We want to continue focusing on summer tourism measure-made for active families." The tourism experts once again expect a further increase in bednights for the coming summer months.

Mountain Exploration for all Ages

For the first time, the new Ochsengarten mountain gondola will be open also in summer on three days per week, whisking hikers up to 2000 meters above sea level straight to the heart of the Hochoetz Pasturelands. Besides the Adventure Land there are also countless walking trails suitable for prams plus quaint mountain huts and inns open all summer. For instance, Balbach Alm, Kühtaile Alm, Acherberg Alm or Bielefelder Hütte can be easily reached on family-friendly walking routes. The mountain gondola is in operation from 03 June 2017 onwards.

Lodging Providers & WIDI Summer Festival

Tourism and accommodation providers get together in Hochoetz on 27 June. A perfect opportunity to take a closer look at the Play Park on the banks of the water reservoir. All new highlights and further information on attractions will be presented as well. This popular event helps to take an insight into the huge range of attractive family offers within the holiday region.

What's more, the splendid WIDIVERSUM Family Festival is scheduled on 02 July 2017. A fun-filled day for young and old who can take part in a varied adventure program featuring many highlights in a row. Holders of a valid mountain lift ticket, Tirol Regio Card or Ötztal Card holders enjoy free admission to the WIDIVERSUM all summer long.
