The difference between a Via Ferrata and a Climbing Garden
A via ferrata on natural rocks is secured with steel cables and iron pins on the entire length, from its access point to its exit. The climbing route is therefore already given and equipped with artificial hand and foot holds (ladders, brackets, etc.). For climbing a via ferrata route you need a complete via ferrata climbing set without any exception.
A climbing garden is a climbing area on natural rock walls, which features a number of (one-pitch) routes of several difficulty levels. Suitable rock walls are equipped with bolts, anchors and other belaying facilities so that sport climbers can belay themselves with quite little effort. In contrast to the via ferrata, a sports climbing route is conquered without using artificial aids.
