Nature Preserve Area
Achstürze – Piburger See

Lake Piburger See is one of Tirol’s oldest nature preserves. Already in 1929 it was declared an area of outstanding natural beauty. Today the Achstürze – Lake Piburger See nature preserve covers the unique cultural landscape in the north of Piburg, the pristine forest surrounding the lake, a part of Ötztaler Ache river and lake Habicher See.

The entire area enchants both walkers and visitors with great natural fascination. What’s more, it is an important habitat for rare Alpine plants and animals. Since 2009 the Nature Preserve Area is a part of the huge Ötztal Nature Park.www.piburgersee.com | www.naturpark-oetztal.at
