Exhibition opening: From Meadow to Paper
Description
Starting from the plant representations of botanist Hugo M. Schiechtl, eight plant species are the focus. They are found in the area around Obergurgl and were partly researched at the Alpine Research Institute of the University of Innsbruck. The works are presented alongside herbarium specimens and contemporary artworks from the collections of the Institute for Art History. In this context, stories unfold between science, art, and pressing societal questions.
The exhibition was curated by Verena Gstir, Lisa Dilitz, and Nikolaus Schallhart. Students of art history were involved in the implementation.
