Der Ötztaler Dialekt und seine Besonderheiten
Description
Genåndr in the Eewesa: The Ötztal Dialect and Its Features
The Ötztalian dialect is often referred to as particularly characteristic, alongside the Zillertalian dialect. No wonder: In the Ötztal, there are many sounds and words that you hardly hear elsewhere, if at all. So those who are genåndr in the Eewesa must be proficient in Ötztalian to be able to converse.
This naturally applies to other Tyrolean dialects as well, especially those from more remote regions. There, the dialects have changed more slowly than in areas along major traffic routes that have been more influenced from the outside. We want to explore what makes the Ötztal dialect special, what it has in common with other dialects from remote areas – and how it might evolve in the future.
For organizational reasons, we kindly ask for registration. However, should someone want to drop by spontaneously, everyone is of course warmly welcomed.
