8th treasure: on the trail of dormice in the Piburg Forest

Piburg (Oetz)
On 05. September 2025 at 14:00

Description

Our dormice – also known as sleeping mice – evade our attention through their hidden lifestyle. They are crepuscular and nocturnal, and additionally, they spend most of the year in hibernation. On this afternoon, you are all invited to take a closer look at the lives of the hazel dormouse, garden dormouse, fat dormouse, and edible dormouse. We will embark on a nut hunt, examine their habitat in detail, and learn more about what makes these little sleepers so special during a walk in the Piburger Forest.
