Via ferrata Geierwand
Description
Map & elevation profile
The Tour
The difficulty is usually level B, but the height and walking time (about 2.5 hours ascent) should not be underestimated. Bring enough to drink on warmer days. A rope bridge called "Innschwebe" and the constant view into the wide Inn valley make the via ferrata especially rewarding. Due to the sunny location, the via ferrata is accessible almost all year round.
Length and time required
Almost 400 m elevation gain and just over 800 m total rope length. 2.5 hours ascent. 0.5 hours descent

Directions
Due to construction, blasting, and rock clearance work, the via ferrata is closed from Monday, May 12, 2025, to and including Friday, June 27, 2025! Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays are excluded from this closure. On these days, the via ferrata and descent are freely accessible.
The start (only via the slab start, direction of travel) begins with difficulty B, in the small Gams band there is a section with B/C and in the area after the rope bridge "Innschwebe" there are some pitches with difficulty C. The last part is, apart from the height, somewhat easier with sections marked A/B and A.
Descent
At the exit, take the marked path immediately to the right (east), first gently, then steeply downward until you reach the entrance to the Simmering climbing garden. Return to Apfelstraße and the parking lot.
