The cycle path crosses the Ötztal federal road several times.
BIKE BEHAVIOR RULES
- Always ride on the right, at controlled speed and, if necessary, with half visibility, especially at narrow points and tight curves, as you must always expect oncoming traffic or obstacles (e.g., bollards, barriers, stones, branches, cattle grids, other vehicles).
- Be aware that the streets and paths used usually have mixed uses and therefore obstructions can occur at any time (e.g., agricultural and forestry vehicles, authorized vehicles, stored wood, grazing livestock).
- Show consideration especially for pedestrians and other cyclists; overtake only at walking pace.
- Consider the technical and physical difficulty of your route and assess your experience and skills as a cyclist carefully (for bike or e-bike beginners, a riding safety training is recommended if necessary).
- Protect your head with a helmet and check your equipment before starting every bike tour (brakes, bell, lights, reflectors, etc.).
- Obey traffic bans and barriers. Close the pasture gates.
- Respect animals and nature by avoiding riding off the roads and paths open to cycle traffic.
- Do not leave any litter.
- According to traffic regulations, only e-bikes/pedelecs with a maximum speed of 25 km/h are allowed on cycle paths.

Directions
The second stage of the Ötztal cycle route starts at the Postplatz in Oetz, from where you enter Niederfeldweg directly. Along the flat path, you roll relaxed past the houses and turn left at the end of the path. There, you cross the federal road and continue your ride safely on the farm road running parallel to the federal road. After a short, gentle climb, you reach Habichen. There, the path runs for a short distance parallel to the federal road and past the first houses before turning left into the small village. In Habichen, follow the path to the right, which leads directly through the village. At the next intersection, cycle through the underpass and turn left. Again, cross the Ötztaler Ache and follow the cycle path to the end of the settlement. After the commercial area, a steep climb awaits parallel to the Ötztal federal road. The path leads through a small, idyllic forest section, always along the Tumpenbach, until you finally reach Tumpen. Here, keep right to enter the village. At the next intersection, take the left path, cycle leisurely past the school, and then cross the Ötztal federal road as well as the Ötztaler Ache to reach the eastern side of the valley. After choosing the left path at the first intersection, the cycle path passes the sports field and the ridge along the valley inward. Following the flat path, you pass the Engelswand, popular with climbers, and cycle relaxed into the next hamlet of Lehn. There, continue rolling over the flat meadows past the church Maria Schnee and cross the Rennebach. After a short forest section, keep right and cross the Ötztal federal road, where you then reach Östen, the second stage destination.
