Map & elevation profile

BUS STOP LENZENALM --> Lenzenalm --> Nedersee junction --> NEDERKOGL --> Nedersee junction --> Lenzenalm --> BUS STOP LENZENALM

The Nederkogl is the local mountain of Sölden.
It appears mighty at the valley end above Sölden. The ascent via Lenzenalm and along the junction of the Nedersee is steadily steep.

All the more, the summit rewards you with a magnificent panoramic view of the large three-thousand-meter peaks of the Ötztal and Stubai Alps.

Author's tip

On the descent, Lenzenalm lies directly on the route and invites you to stop for refreshments.

Hiking difficulty

Alpine hiking trail in harsh, steep terrain - there may be easy climbing sections (I UIAA), steep grassy slopes, scree, easy snowfields and glacier passages. Often pathless terrain with exposed sections and the risk of falling.

Recommended maps

Kompass # 042 | Inner Ötztal and Pitztal, Gurgler Valley, Venter Valley | 1:25,000

The hike starts directly at the Lenzenalm bus stop or at the Lenzenalm parking lot.

From there, it takes about 1 hour to reach Lenzenalm. It goes leisurely up a wide forest road through the woods. Always slightly ascending, but not particularly strenuous. The last ascent to the hut is a little steeper, but from there you can enjoy the view towards Gurgl.

From Lenzenalm, you go a little further through the forest - across alpine meadows to the nearby Nedersee (2435m, short detour possible) - on a very steep path, you reach the northeast ridge via switchbacks.

Over coarse boulders, it then goes either along the ridge (marked) or in the eastern flank (also marked) up to the summit cross.

The descent from Nederkogl follows the same route as the ascent!
