Description

From the hut, a short section down the valley to a sturdy bridge over the Niederjochbach to the foot of the Marzell ridge. Crossing the foot of the ridge and later descending to the Marzell glacier. Over the glacier (mostly snow-free in the lower part) up to the icefalls. Now either pass the icefalls on the right and behind them over crevassed terrain to the upper glacier surface or from here over the rocky ridge (sections II), partly very airy, to the summit. Duration: about 5 h Descent over firn and ice ridge westward at about 3,400 m to the left into the glacier basin between Hintere Schwärze and eastern Marzellspitze, crossing and continuing down to the upper glacier surface.
