Floating elegantly on the ice - even if this idea can't be put into practice a hundred percent right from start, ice skating simply creates a good mood. And after the first restrained attempts everyone will get enthusiastic very soon. In addition to the well-groomed artificial ice rinks, where team athletes can give curling a try, Ötztal also offers a breathtaking natural ice rink on frozen Lake Piburger See.

In addition to some artificial ice rinks where curling can be practiced, Ötztal in Tirol also offers a very special experience for pursuing this sport: in winter, if the ice layer is thick enough, alpine curling can be played in a scenic idyll on the natural ice surface of lake Piburger See. The shoes for curling should definitely be non-slip, as you play on a smooth and quite slippery surface. In addition, waterproof and lined shoes are not a disadvantage at all, since you don't move too much when ice curling and moisture can accumulate in the shoes. Many people also rely on shoes with a higher shaft, which provides additional stability.
