Alpine pastures & huts
From rustic to top modern refreshment stops
There is no hurry on the sun terraces and parlor benches of Ötztal's pasture inns and mountain huts. But the real Alpine feeling spreads out while the hut tenants offer fresh, regional delicacies. Incidentally, it's no rumor that bacon dumplings, Kaiserschmarrn & more taste even better on the mountain. Just try it for yourselves - some Alpine inns, snack stations and mountain restaurants are easily reachable by cart road or mountain lifts while other huts and Alpine pastures can be conquered only in the classic way by using your legs.

The route leads from Mühle in Huben to the Polltal and Breitlehnalm pastures. Hikers will soon be able to switch to the footpath, which has a steep incline, but will shorten the many hairpin bends. What is striking is the fern-rich larch and stone pine forest which you walk through almost to the very top. Once at the hut, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the valley and the Ötztal mountains. Relaxed and strengthened, it's back down to the valley. To do this, either choose the route or hike further to the Breitlehnalm and from there take the mountain climb (a little steeper) back to Huben.
Walking time: 2 hours
