Canyoning & Cave Trekking in Ötztal

Canyoning im Ötztal

Some years ago it was still an exotic sport, today it's an absolute must-do for outdoor fans: Canyoning is one of the most exciting summer water sports in the Ötztal. It involves climbing steeply-angled clefts set in a narrow valley, finding a way down to a rocky river bed and making your way back down to the valley - sometimes scrambling through rapids, being swept along natural rock chutes, abseiling down waterfalls or jumping. Wear a neoprene suite, you are with guides who know the river and waterfalls like the back of their hand, choosing the route according to the group's abilities. Therefore it is also suitable for beginners: surefootedness, a good head for heights and no fear of water are absolutely required. Varied professional Adventure Schools offer made to measure canyoning and cave treks within the Ötztal.
