Curator’s Guided Tour: Pearls of the Baroque

Description
Christoph Waldhart is a sculptor, artist, and art historian.
He has a particularly keen eye for Baroque art and possesses extensive knowledge about the period as well as the work in the workshops. On December 28th, he will guide visitors through the new exhibition “Pearls of the Baroque.”
Since December 18th, the exhibition “Pearls of the Baroque in the Ötztal and Tyrolean Upper Country” has been on display at the Turmmuseum Oetz.
This small show was curated by Christoph Waldhart, together with the team of the Ötztal Museums.
It focuses on some of the most beautiful Baroque sculptures in the collection of the Ötztal Museums, but also presents other artists – such as the blind sculptor Josef Kleinhans from Nauders.
Loaned works from the Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum can also be seen, including a fantastic alabaster relief by the Oberrieder (Längenfeld) artist Josef Götsch.
On December 28th at 3 PM, Christoph Waldhart will lead a tour through the exhibition “Pearls of the Baroque” and provide insights into this epoch that has shaped the Ötztal and Tyrolean Upper Country to this day. Admission to the event is free, donations are appreciated.
