WER WIDERSTAND? Deserters from the Wehrmacht in the Ötztal valley.

Who hasn't had the opportunity to visit the new exhibitions in the Ötztal museums? As part of the action day of the Euregio Museum Year 2025, there will be a chance to participate in two guided tours led by curators on September 21: the focus afternoon starts at 2 PM in the Ötztal Local History Museum, ending at 6 PM in the Tower Museum Oetz.

Both tours will be offered by the curators of the exhibitions: At 2 PM, Edith Hessenberger will guide through the local history museum on the topic of the Nazi era in the Ötztal. The exhibition will showcase particularly interesting objects from the collection call “What to do with Nazi stuff?” and provide insight into everyday life during the years of war and fascism in the Ötztal.

At 4:30 PM, Verena Sauermann will conduct one last tour in the Tower Museum Oetz through the exhibition “WHO RESISTED” and explain why there were particularly many deserters in the Ötztal and how they managed to survive.
