The start of the 1st stage is at the Gehsteig Alm above Tumpen. You can reach it with the local hut taxi and thereby save many kilometers and elevation meters on forest roads. From the Gehsteig Alm, you hike together with the hiking guide to the Erlanger Hut. Upon arrival at the hut, you enjoy the unique atmosphere and wind down the evening. A visit to the Wetter Lake right above the hut is, of course, a must. After an "alpine night" at the Erlanger Hut, you start at 2,550 m, cross 2 saddles, and hike through the Leierstal to the "Feilerscharte" at 3,000 m before descending to the Frischmann Hut. The conclusion of the trekking tour is a leisurely "wandering out" along historic paths. From the Frischmann Hut, you start flat towards the "Waalweg," a historic trail alongside a small brook. With magnificent views over the Fundustal, you then reach the Hintere Fundus Alm. There, the local hut taxi awaits and brings the participants back to the valley to their accommodation.

Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is the ÖTZTAL station. Afterwards, you can travel conveniently and quickly by public transport or local taxi companies through the entire valley to your desired destination.

Driving by car to ÖTZTAL. Located in Tyrol, the Ötztal branches off to the south as the longest side valley of the Eastern Alps. Arrival by car takes travelers through the Inn Valley to the valley entrance and then along the Ötztal. Besides the toll motorway, country roads can also be used. Equipment
Appropriate equipment for alpine mountain hikes is a matter of course on all routes in the Alps. Stable hiking boots or mountain shoes, breathable outdoor pants, a rain jacket, as well as a backpack with provisions, drinks, and a first aid kit always belong to the standard equipment for routes in the Alps. Sunglasses, sunscreen, headwear such as a bandana or hiking hat are also highly recommended, as well as a warm second jacket, trekking poles if desired, and gloves if needed. The choice of clothing should of course always be adapted to the current weather conditions.
