OETZ -> Kohlstatt -> junction to the Seejöchl viewing platform (Rudolf Schock trail) -> hiking path to Piburg -> along the Piburger See -> Wellerbrücke -> OETZ
Very beautiful, moderate hike from Oetz to the Seejöchl above the Piburger See.
The hike begins in the center of Oetz. You walk along the Ache and cross the Brandach bridge after about 300m. There you turn left and follow the path to the Kohlstatt where you orient yourself according to the Seejöchl signpost. The Rudolf Schock trail has been renovated and widened. The path ascends quite steeply in places, so hiking poles are recommended in winter for support. To reach the viewing platform, you leave the main path for a short distance. The view over the wintery Piburger See and the snow-covered mountains on the opposite valley side rewards the climb.
Through the forest you reach the hamlet of Piburg, and from there the path branches right towards the Piburger See, which you follow for a while. After the Seehäusel you turn right and follow the path until you reach the forest road again, which you cross, then continue along the path to the Wellerbrücke. From there you follow the path back to Oetz.
