Next to the cross-country ski trail from Pill/Angern, an interesting winter hiking trail runs through the broad valley basin of Gurgl.

Over small steps, past the larch woods and old farms, the trail leads to Obergurgl and further to the Zirben Alm at the foot of the natural monument. The hike runs alternately on the right and left along the Gurgler Ache and shows both the original and the modern side of the popular winter sports resort.
