STAGE 10:
LÄNGENFELD –> Lake Winkelbergsee –> Wurzbergalm –> Köfels –> UMHAUSEN
A SMALL PARADISE SHAPED BY A ROCKSLIDE
The wide open valley basin of Längenfeld and its lush green meadows cover some 20 dreamlike kilometers. Also the Waterfall in Lehn reminds of a fairytale: masses of Alpine waters are falling about 80 meters into the impressive ravine. Benches and wooden platforms invite you to take a deep breath, offering fabulous panoramic views of the huge plain. A giant rockslide some 10,000 years ago has left many traces still visible today, comprising the dreamlike flora and fauna in the entire landslide area. Right in the middle of this awesome scenery you'll find a shallow, jade-colored mountain lake which makes children's hearts beat faster thanks to a number of sustainable constructions. There is always action either at lake Winkelbergsee, in the small water park nearby or on the exciting Geology & Animal Theme Trail.
Quaint Wurzbergalm mountain inn nestles just above the lake, between Alpine pastures and deep green mountain forests. Varied sounds and scents of the forest accompany you towards the little village of Köfels, formed by the Köfels rockslide on a high-altitude plateau. Soon you will reach Umhausen, the stage's destination down on the valley floor.
