The small family round is ideal for exploring the surroundings of Oetz.
Almost 14 kilometers on bike and meadow paths are easily manageable even for young beginner bikers. The start is in Oetz at the beginning of the Ötztal. Sheltered, Oetz lies in a basin at the foot of the 3,008-meter-high Acherkogel. This creates a particularly mild climate here. The route leads northwards, then turns right and follows the forest road. Through the dense forest, you reach the Piburger See. It invites you to take a break. Afterwards, the route descends towards Habichen. At valley level, the Habicher See is located on the right side. This spot is good for a short rest before returning to Oetz (the path to the lake is only accessible on foot - no cycling allowed)
Author’s recommendation
This route follows developed paths and is easily rideable with a motorized e-mountain bike or a classic mountain bike without a motor.

Roadbook
The starting point of this family-friendly round is the Oetz town center parking lot (paid). There is also a bus stop directly next to the parking lot (Oetz municipal office). Leave the parking lot on the left side and follow the paved path along the Ache for about 500 m to the Piburger Straße intersection. Cross the Ötztaler Ache and ride a short distance along the Piburger Landesstraße. After a few meters, turn left at the first intersection. Passing the sports field, the paved path becomes a gravel path. Before ascending towards Piburger See, you get a fantastic view of the church in Oetz. Follow the gravel path and enter an idyllic forest area. The gentle ascent continues towards Piburger See while following signs to Seejöchl. Short ascents alternate with level stretches. Continue cycling at a moderate pace through the forest. Soon you reach an intersection with a shrine on the left. Turn left here and then follow the path downhill towards Habichen. A bench at this idyllic spot invites you to take a short break to gather energy for the ride ahead. Follow the gravel path steeply downhill to reach the western part of the small village of Habichen in a short time. Down there, a short detour to Habicher See is recommended. Please lock the bikes here and follow the narrow path, which starts to the right before the small bridge, exclusively on foot. Passing the Habicher ice cellar, you reach Habicher See directly. A truly beautiful place for young and old. Various seating options invite you to linger. From the western part of Habichen, the bike path leads past a small chapel and a farm. At the next intersection, turn left and soon cross the Ötztaler Ache. Then, going through the underpass on the right side, turn left again. Continue through the small village and follow the path parallel to the Ötztaler Bundesstraße for a short stretch, then pass the last houses of Habichen on the right. The paved path leads downhill past the Acherkogelbahn, and shortly after, you reach Oetz again. Here, a big ice cream in one of the many cafés in Oetz awaits as a reward. If you still have enough energy, you can really let loose at WIDIs KIDS PARK, the adventure playground. To get to the playground, take the first exit at the roundabout in Oetz and turn right again at the first fork in the road. After the short ascent, WIDIs KIDS PARK lies directly above the swimming pool. Have fun climbing, balancing, sliding, and swinging!
