Walk as far as your feet can carry you for the first time: Tirol's longest side valley offers a variety of long-distance hiking routes. The approx. 180 km long Ötztaler Urweg loops through the entire valley. In 12 stages you will get to know (and love) the valley like the back of your hand. One level higher, the alpine Ötztal Trek leads into the breathtaking mountain world, while the E5 European long-distance hiking trail leads beyond the boundaries.

But you not only experience something new in Ötztal over long distances. An endless 1600 km network of hiking trails, routes and climbs invite families, leisurely hikers and summiteers to explore the valley. Easy theme trails take kids closer to Ötztal's fauna and flora while 12 summer mountain lifts whisk leisurely hikers up to the mountains. Alpinists are guaranteed to find the right destination in the valley of 250 three thousand meter high peaks - such as Wildspitze at 3768 meters, North Tirol's highest mountain.
 

The first time by bike across 5 climatic zones: The unrivaled Ötztal Cycle Trail leads from the entrance to the valley near Haiming at 670 m in 4 stages to Sölden at 1377 m. In between: Safe and hassle-free cycling fun for all ages. Not only do you cross five climatic zones, to the left and the right of the cycle trail there are many exciting cycling destinations waiting to be discovered. Refreshment stops and e-bike charging stations guarantee that you and your e-bike don't run out of energy.

Those who want to leave the paved cycle trail behind will find more than 850 km of MTB routes, bike & hike tours and marked e-bike routes within Ötztal. In our BIKE SPOTS located throughout the valley, both adults and kids learn how to handle their vehicle – for instance, in in Tirol's first E-bike Park. All spots aficionados who are fond of narrow tires will also find legendary passes in the valley.
 

Take over the helm for the first time: Imst's giant ravine near Ötztal is one of the most popular and busiest river stretches in Europe and is ideal for your first river rafting tour. Team spirit and coordination are required to master the wild ride over bubbling rollers and waves. You will be accompanied on the approximately 14 km long route by certified guides who know the river like the back of their hand.

You can not only conquer the white waters of Ötztal, you can also walk, slide and jump. When canyoning, you follow the course of the water through rocky gorges by experiencing wet moments and happy adventures. Experienced white water sports enthusiasts should take part in a boat trip on Ötztaler Ache that really has it all.
 

Surpassing yourself for the very first time - literally: Ötztal offers countless technically challenging climbing routes. The valley's easy via ferratas are just perfect for novice climbers without prior experience – even for children. For example, the new practice via ferrata above idyllic lake Piburger See. All those who successfully masters this "tightrope act" can dare to attempt one of the other 7 "vie ferrate".

Experienced sports climbers (and those who still improve their skills) will find an ideal vertical playground in the 19 climbing gardens featuring around 750 routes spread across the valley. Multi-rope tours round off the huge range of climbing options within the valley.
