There are many awe-inspiring places & villages in Ötztal but some are particularly fascinating as they offer incredible views of Ötztal’s mountain realm. We will tell you more about these scenic places here.

#1 Lake Habicher See, Habichen

Lake Habicher See is a beautiful & quiet place that is easily accessible for hikers and leisurely walkers. It's only a 10-minute walk from Habichen to Lake Habicher See. Comfortably and also easily accessible with a stroller as the trail is barrier-free. A 12 meter long footpath and a sandbank by the lake invite you to play, linger and wind down.

#2 Teufelskanzel, Längenfeld

Fabulous panorama trail to Teufelskanzel vista point, offering wonderful views of the entire Längenfeld valley basin and the surrounding Alpine scenery. The trail starts in Oberlängenfeld at the bridge over Fischbach brook.

#3 Ebele, Oetz

You start at the base station of Acherkogel mountain gondola. Then continue along the forest trail, past the KIDS PARK and the chapel at "Kalvarienberg" (Mountain Calvary). At the turn-off with notice board, follow the "Ebele" vista point and enjoy the incomparable view on site.

#4 Adlerblick, Längenfeld

Adlerblick vantage point – that's how an eagle’s perspective must be at almost 1400 meters above sea level. Myriad peaks which the king of the skies easily reaches high up in the air seem just a wing beat away. But you don't need eagle eyes, just a small periscope on the viewing platform to make out the peaks of Fünffingerspitze, Hahlkogel, Fundusfeiler and Gamskogel.

#5 Ice Cellar, Habichen

So-called "ice holes" occasionally can be found in rockslide areas. Rock crevices that have significantly lower temperatures than the surrounding area. This phenomenon is caused by the fact that cold air flows into the valley from above through underground tunnel systems. Since these crevices usually feature wet walls, there is also evaporation cold. This phenomenon also occurs here at Lake Habicher See. For many centuries, the local population has used this cold place to store perishable food.

#6 Suspension Bridge, Längenfeld

Brand and Burgstein. Two sun-kissed balconies like panoramic nests around 200 m above the valley floor! Each with a rustic stop plus truly magnificent mountain backdrop. Connected by a spectacular suspension bridge. A loop hiking trail full of contrasts and new perspectives - easy to walk on.

#7 Stuiben Falls, Umhausen

A new construction of trails and stairs makes the scenic Stuiben Falls easily accessible and explorable close up. Hikers and mountaineers reach the starting point of the waterfall in Niederthai via approx. 700 steps and an exposed, 80 meter long suspension bridge - leading past viewing platforms and the roaring water masses. The unique Alpine flora provides the Stuiben Falls with a contemplative atmosphere. What’s more, on sunny days a huge rainbow often sets a colorful highlight that no visitor will forget quickly.
