Hiking & mountaineering

The journey is its own reward. Enjoy spectacular views at your hiking destination and on the way there, on a total of 1600 km of hiking trails, routes, climbs, footpaths and treks. In Gurgl leisurely hikers are right from the start in the high mountains and can look forward to views as far as the Italian Dolomites. In Vent you are in fully your element as a mountaineer and find yourself surrounded by awe-inspiring 3000 meter peaks, the highest within Tirol’s Eastern Alps. No matter where you hike, it will always be a unique experience in Ötztal! Do you really want to put your limits to the test? Biking & cycling

Grab your travel companion and get on your bike! No matter how much experience you have, professional or beginner, we have bike routes of all types and difficulty levels. The Ötztal Cycle Trail leads from lower Ötztal on 50 kilometers to Sölden and shows you the most beautiful corners of the valley. In the Bike Republic Sölden it is always downhill, endless kilometers of lines guarantee a flowing downhill feeling plus adrenaline kicks. Phew... and we haven't even started with the mountain bike and road bike routes! In short: explore 1 valley on 2 wheels in endless variety. One thing is for sure: it is an absolute must-try!

Outdoor

It's not just the peaks that seem endless here. Even the offers on the valley floor are almost endless either on water or on land. Jump into the cold water while canyoning or stay above the water surface, at least for a short time, when river rafting or kayaking. Area 47 and myriad outdoor adventure providers will show you a world full of action and outdoor fun. The outdoor season starts on 06 May with the Raft Battle kicking off the season. Additionally, there are all the must-see spots such as lake Piburger See, where you can really relax and unwind. With us you prefer to be outdoors - guaranteed!

Climbing

Conquer lofty heights, or rather, climb them. Step by step, foot and hand holds take you a little closer to heaven. Ötztal is THE unrivaled (granite) climbing region in Tirol. You can also live out your urge to go vertical in 19 climbing gardens and 8 via ferratas. One of our highlights: the via ferrata next to the Stuiben Falls, Tirol's biggest waterfall. Feel the cooling breeze on your skin as the water rushes down right next to you. On request, our mountain and climbing guides will be happy to share their know-how with you and make you really fit for the climbing rocks.

My first real 3000m high peak

Climb with us and a small group of mountain enthusiasts to Similaun summit at 3606 m. We have taken care of everything: starting package, accommodation, mountain guide etc. What is still missing? Only you!

Ötztaler Urweg

Explore 12 stages, small and large villages of the valley, highlights and nature impressions. An approx. 180 kilometer (loop) long-distance hiking trail takes you through the entire Ötztal. Of course, you can also hike "only" single stages!

Piburger See

Pack your swimwear, we are heading the lake Piburger See. Easy hiking routes, mountain and e-bike routes lead to our natural jewel including boat facilities. Of course, you can also take the car. But who wants to do that?

Stuibenfall Via Ferrata

You can get very close to the 159 m high waterfall in Umhausen-Niederthai on the via ferrata covering a length of 450 m. For the really daring, there is a wire rope that even allows you to cross the entire waterfall!

Ötztal Cycle Trail

Once across the valley on the (e-)bike! You start in Haiming at 670 m and pedal through the entire Ötztal to Sölden at 1377 m. 50 kilometers full of mountains, forest and meadows await you. And a variety of worthwhile stops.
