A relatively flat, attractive winter hiking trail leads from Vent to the beautiful Rofenhöfen in the Rofental, which rises up to the glaciers of the Alpine main ridge in the south. From the village entrance you go over the bridge and the valley station of the Ochsenkopfliftes, where the winter hiking trail begins. It runs along the foot of the Talleitspitze and past the old cross of the Wildspitze, which dates back to 1933, was replaced in 2010 and transported to the valley. After a short stretch, turn right across a Rofenache to the Rofenhöfen. Refreshments at Gasthof Rofenhofen. Remaining: The historic Rofenhöfe is one of the oldest permanently inhabited mining estates in Austria.
Author’s recommendation
Die historischen Rofenhöfe gehören zu den ältesten dauerbesiedelten Bergbauernhöfen Österreichs. Besichtigen Sie auch die bekannte Haflingerzucht des Rofnerbauern.
