Across Ramoljoch To Niedertal
This high alpine route takes you from Gurgltal’s mountains across Ramoljoch to Niedertal, a beautifully valley that starts in the mountain village of Vent. The breathtaking views make it difficult to leave Ramolhaus but there is no need to worry: the panoramic views from Ramoljoch are just as spectacular! From Ramolhaus climb a few meters up before descending to the dead ice of Ramolferner. Continue through the scree field in a northern direction before crossing the ice (usually you can “boulder-hop” your way through the field). The next section is steep and uses fixed cables and metal rungs to assist your ascent through boulders, slabs and rubble. But once at the top you are treated to great views of Gurgler Ferner and Wildspitze! From here the trail switchbacks down quickly, then runs along the lateral moraine of Spiegelferner. Continue until you get to a trail junction at approx. 2800 meters above sea level. There turn left towards Martin- Busch-Hütte. The trail then climbs moderately to a saddle and continues through gentle pasturelands and the slopes above Niedertal to Diembach River and down to the valley. Hike into the valley for a few meters, cross Niedertalbach River and follow the road and/or cartroad to Martin-Busch-Hütte.
