Die Engelswand in Tumpen ist wohl der Inbegriff eines ideal gelegenen Klettergartens. Von weitem bereits ist die Wand mit ihrem rötlichen Gneis sichtbar

A huge lawn in the foothills and a great choice of different routes make the Tumpen Climbing Garden a beginner-friendly climbing area in Tirol. A new section was opened on the right side of the rock face, which is very well secured and therefore ideal for newcomers. The Engelswand rock face really has it all: corner lines, wonderful overhangs, challenging grooves and ledges.

CLIMBING RULES

Useful advice and a few tips to make climbing easier and safer:

  1. Get familiar with the equipment: use only standardized mountain sports equipment (CE sign) & study instructions for use accurately
  2. Partner check before starting: double-check your knots, harness buckle, belay system, karabiners, snaplinks and the end of the rope
  3. Let your climbing partner know what's going on: communication prevents misunderstandings, let your belayer know when he has to take your weight on the rope
  4. Act respectfully: respect other climbers and inform them of mistakes and dangers; always respect areas where climbing is not allowed
  5. Protect your head
  6. No rope on rope contact
  7. Warm up before you start climbing: gymnastics and warm-up climbing protects your joints, muscles and tendons
  8. Full attention while belaying: the life of your climbing partner is in your hands
  9. It is strictly forbidden to fix new climbing hooks
