The Mill in Piburg

Rediscover old crafts

The inhabitants of Oetz's hamlet of Piburg operated their own mill until 1914. After the accidental discovery of historic millstones, Piburg's Fountain Association revived this ancient tradition. At approx. 200 meters from the original location there is a copy of the former mill building including also renovated millstones. A functioning oven as well as finds from Piburg's sawmill and electricity plant can be admired in the same location.

Children's bread baking, guided mill tour & mill fairytales

As part of WIDI's super groovy summer program the Piburg Fountain Association offers a special adventure package for the youngest guests every Friday at 1.00 pm during the summer months. Mill fairytales and a guided tour of the mill provide insights into traditional millers craft, while playing and having fun together are the focus of a bread baking workshop for kids.

Registration at "WIDIs Hotline" by 6.00 pm the day before: T +43 664 6547 709. Fee: EUR 15 - participation is free of charge for children staying at a WIDI partner accommodation.

Special guided tours for adults on request at Piburg's Fountain Association. www.brunnenverein.at
