This scenic loop is full of natural beauty and makes for a quiet, relaxing hike. The route takes you along Arzwinkel Waalweg with its gently burbling waters, and along Steppsteig Trail with its great views of Umhausen. The highlight of this wonderful hike is Stuibenfall, Tirol’s highest waterfall. During the initial section of this water walk, you will discover the Arzwinkel irrigation channel as you walk along an educational nature trail. Further along the way you can catch glimpses of the Horlachbach river – also known as Stuibenfall – cascading down the steep mountain slopes. A new designed hiking trail and stair construction allows you to experience the Stuibenfall at close range. Hikers and mountaineers pass the viewing platforms and the roaring waters via approx. 700 steps and an exposed 80 meter long suspension bridge leading to Niederthai - the origin of the waterfall. What's more, the wonderful Alpine flora in the falls' surroundings is a highlight not to be missed. And with a bit of luck, on sunny days you also have the chance to admire the most colorful rainbows. Continue along the old Niederthai Road to Gasthof Stuibenfall. From here on, the scenery changes completely. The trail continues through a lush mountain pasture and takes you through peaceful and serene surroundings. To get back take the high elevation trail and Kreuzweg , and continue on Steppsteig. This trail offers several interpretive panels with information on the forest, its flora and the region’s culture, and superb views of Umhausen.
