Description

Heavenly devilish
The pleasant Duringweg walking route travels along the shore of the Ötztaler Ache river. Literally, there is no devilish sulfur in the air but pleasant scents reminding of freshly cut trees, moss and wild berries. The hike‘s ascent travels along Panoramaweg trail to the Teufelskanzel area marked with a Tirolean flag.

Here you should watch out for the blazing red devil with a trident made of steel, poking out his long tongue.

Legend has it that the local farmer and hunter Bartl sold his soul and made a deal with the devil. In return the devil promised wealth and prosperity. You are warmly invited to read the end of the whole story written on the huge information board on the spot.

One thing is for sure, the farmer Bartl enjoyed an equally fantastic view of Längenfeld‘s basin, the Suspension Bridge, Brand and Burgstein.

Starting point: Camping Längenfeld, footbridge over Ötztaler Ache river
