Take the Acherkogelbahn in Oetz which will bring you to the Hochoetz ski region. The beautiful, signposted snowshoe trail starts just below the panoramic restaurant (2020 m). The trail goes past the “Roten Wandl”. From there the trail leads slightly downhill, away from the piste, through the forest and crosses just below the Brunnenkopf lift through the snowy winter forest to the Acherkogelblick viewing platform. The impressive view of the Acherkogel invites you to linger. The next part of the snowshoe trail is more demanding and requires a certain level of snowshoe experience. After about 1 km and 170 m climb you reach the Bielefelder Hütte where you can make yourself comfortable, enjoy the view and gather new strength with a Kaiserschmarrn. For those with more stamina, there is the option to continue to trudge up to the Schafer Kreuz. The path is relatively comfortable and climbs slightly up through the side of the mountain. When you arrive at the Schafer Kreuz you have a wonderful panoramic view and can take in the 360° panorama. For the descent take the same path back to the Bielefelder Hütte. Below the hut the route branches off to the right. Here you follow the slightly steeper path down until you get back to the beginning of the tour and follow the same way back to the Acherkogel cable car.
