The destination of this hike is small Hauserseehütte, a self-catering hut on pretty Lake Hauersee whose turquoise-tinted waters mirror the sky above. The hike starts in Huben (Längenfeld) and leaves the valley along Ötztaler Ache towards Längenfeld. The route takes you past Aqua Dome, crosses River Fischbach, which meanders down from Sulztal. The trail once more crosses the river and then the flat part is over. The trail climbs in switchbacks past the Plague Chapel and then continues through a steep but easy forest to Hauertal where the terrain opens up into a wild and rocky basin which is so narrow it almost looks like a gorge. The well-maintained trail continues climbing, crossing several new bridges along the way. The closer you get to Hauerseehütte the gentler the landscape becomes. After about 4 ½ you will reach Hauerseehütte which sits on a small hill.
