ÖTZTAL NATURE PARK ASSOCIATION

The Ötztal Nature Park Association is the body responsible for the conservation of the protected area of the Ötztal Alps and Gurgler Kamm Biosphere Park. Members of this association are the town of Sölden, the Federal Forestry Office, the Tourist Boards of Obergurgl and Sölden-Ötztal Arena, the Inner Ötztal section of the Austrian Alpine Association and the Province of Tirol. It is the association's aim to realize projects and measures to ensure a sustainable development of upper Ötztal's natural surroundings, to support mountain farming and forestry as well as alternative sources of energy.

The main tasks are to make both the locals and guests more sensitive for environmental concerns. in addition to the realization of projects (e.g. themed trails) it is also a service and information point for all locals between Haiming and Obergurgl.
