Wandern im Ötztal A delightful, wide open plain can be found at the entrance to the Ötztal at the height of Haiming's Apple Road while the valley's central part features lush green meadows. Proceeding southwards, you reach the high Alpine areas and sun-flooded terraces with picture-book pasturelands covered with loads of colorful mountain flowers. Some 250 peaks beyond 3000 meters with its glacier-topped summits can be admired under deep blue skies. What's more, 1300 kilometers of signposted hiking trails lead all across the scenic Ötztal Alps, right to the genuine heart of the valley where hikers are warmly invited to discover the truly awesome mountain summer with all its colors, scents and sounds.

I have a dream - Ready, steady, go for the passes! The Ötztaler Cycle Marathon on 29th August '10 with start and finish in Sölden /Tirol marks the highlight of the cycling season for hobby cyclists from all over the world. Some 4000 participants will take part in the race.
